Las Vegas and Reno to compete in InnovateHER

LAS VEGAS — The nationwide competition for companies looking to enhance the lives of women and their families through the innovation of goods and services is coming to Nevada. The local competitions kick off this month.

The Las Vegas competition is accepting entries through Nov. 22 at the Women’s Business Center. Contact Leanna Jenkins at 702.734.3555 or email LJenkins@nmi-vedc.com

Entries for the Reno competition at The CUBE are due by Nov. 13 with the live pitch taking place Nov. 19.

Launched by the Small Business Administration, InnovateHER local competitions select entrepreneurs to go on the semi-final round.  An executive committee of SBA officials will review the semi-final nomination packages and select no more than 10 finalists.

The finalists will travel to Washington, D.C., where they’ll pitch their products to a panel of expert judges during SBA’s National Small Business Week and compete for a total of $70,000 in prize money provided by Microsoft.
