Nevada startups starting up

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A new U.S. Census Bureau report named Nevada the most active state in the country for startups with a growth rate of 2.8 percent. “Measuring America: Job Creation in the United States,” is the study, released by the U.S. Census Bureau, and based on the year 2013.

Florida, North Dakota, Utah and New Mexico rounded out the top five. Florida had a 2.7 percent growth rate and North Dakota put 2.6 percent on the board. Utah and New Mexico each had startup growth rates of 2.5 percent. The average startup growth rate for the nation was 2 percent.

The overall startup job creation trend has been tracking downward in recent years and the new growth bucks the trend.
