Las Vegas sets new tourist visitor record in May

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The month of May set a record for Las Vegas tourist volume with visitor totals up by almost 5 percent. The announcement was made by The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority last week. Nearly 3.74 million tourists visited Las Vegas during May. The previous record was 3.688 million visitors in March of last year.

Hotel occupancy throughout the Valley hit 91.2 percent with an average daily room rate of $130. The average was up more than 2 percent.

So far in 2015, more than 17.4 million tourists have visited Las Vegas. This is a 1.3-percent increase over the same period in 2014.
